Tangerine Strain

Updated: Oct 30

If one becomes familiar enough about all the nooks and crannies of cannabis, it should not come as a surprise that there are certain varieties available in the market that have uncertain origins.

While this fact does not entirely sound alarming, the limited information can often lead to a limited supply or accessibility.

Information about Tangerine:

Although it does not seem like a huge deal, it becomes a concern when the actual potential of these strains that we know little about or have so much unsubstantiated data surrounding it cannot be fully maximized because there are too many loopholes in its origin, genetics or cultivation method.

For the hardcore cannabis fans, especially medical marijuana users, it becomes almost imperative that they are well-informed about different strains especially those with higher CBD concentrations.

While the legality of its usage as a medical alternative is still questionable in many places, it does not stop others from taking advantage of the plant’s supposed alleviating properties.

On that note, here is one particular strain that is not necessarily the most familiar among all the other cannabis varieties but is one of the most medically valuable.

This strain’s name is Tangerine, and yes, it does smell and taste a lot like the actual fruit.

Tangerine is said to be a Sativa-dominant strain. However, the ratio of its Indica to Sativa concentration is unclear.

The strain is a 4th generation daughter of Ch9 Aroma and was originally developed by Ch9 Female Seeds.

Although there are pieces of information about the Tangerine strain that are not quite verified, these available data seem to be from the personal experiences of users and growers alike.

It is said to have THC levels that can reach as high as 18% which is just a little over the average concentration found in other strains. If this is indeed accurate, Tangerine is, therefore, not that potent and can be an excellent choice for first-time users.

Adverse Reaction

Every cannabis strain has the potential of causing some adverse reactions. They can vary, however, in how often these side-effects are experienced by users and how severe they are once they manifest.

In the case of Tangerine, the most commonly reported side-effect is paranoia which is quite surprising because the strain only has an above average potency. Nonetheless, other adverse reactions of Tangerine may involve having dry mouth and dry eyes which can also be accompanied by signs of anxiety and headaches.

Medical

If we consider the 2% CBD level of Tangerine, it can be regarded as some of the rare varieties of cannabis with a CBD concentration that exceeds 1%. This means that Tangerine’s medicinal value is quite impressive.

Growing

The information about Tangerine’s ideal cultivation method is very limited, and the data may even have slight differences depending on the source.

Even so, there seems to be an agreement that the strain can be grown either indoor or outdoor. The ideal outdoor growing condition of the strain is unknown or at least, is not explicitly explained by other growers. However, for indoor cultivation, the strain could work well with all types of mediums. The best one, though, is a hydroponic setup. This method is to be the most effective in bringing out the distinct aroma of the strain.

Flowering Time

Indoors

The known average flowering time of Tangerine when grown indoors is 7 to 8 weeks. Tangerine is not known to produce abundant yields. In fact, the strain’s estimated indoor yield is only about 3 ounces per square meter.

Outdoors

Unfortunately, there is no verified information as to the flowering time of Tangerine when grown outdoors. Nonetheless, various sources would claim that the strain can produce an outdoor yield of 10 to 12 ounces per plant.
