Strawberry Strain

Updated: Nov 11

A ripe strawberry fruit embodies everything that is good. From its looks, smell, and down to its taste, it is perfect. In many ways, the same can also be said of Strawberry, the cannabis strain.

Information about Strawberry:

Strawberry Strain

Exactly how much of it is Indica, no one knows for sure. One thing that most cannabisconnoisseurs agree on is that it is mostly Sativa. One of the best thing about Strawberry, besides its great fragrance and flavors, is that it is also gentle.

Possessing an average THC level, Strawberry gives smokers the mental high coupled with relaxing body buzz without causing a couch-lock. Because of that, this strain became one of the most popular weeds in Dutch cafes. Mostly, it is its gentle effects make it a great marijuana for daytime or nighttime use.

It seems like the genetics of Strawberry is gone forever. No one even knows who the original breeder was. As such, looking for information on its past is an exercise in futility. What we know is that the strain has been around a long time. Also, different breeders have used it to cross with others to design new hybrids.

Effects

One thing marijuana connoisseurs love about this strain is that it is gentle, and subtle, even. If you are looking for a strain that delivers an intense high, then this is not the strain for you.

Strawberry delivers a great mental high without the overwhelming rush. Moments after using, smokers start to feel any negative thoughts fading away. It can be best described as similar to having a thorn taken away. From the sense of relief, it gently brings users to a new mental high, one where they feel good. In some instances, the feeling of happiness builds up to elation, but not to the point of losing control.

The mental high is also followed by a slow body buzz. Faint, yet noticeable. Combine this with the uplifted mood, and users now feel relaxed. So as long as one does not use the strain excessively, then Strawberry will not cause one to be glued. In most cases, the positive mood swing may even add spring to smokers.

Fragrance

Strawberry has a pungent odor with spicy tones. The smell of earth mixed in is a dead giveaway that it is a marijuana. What sets it apart from others is the sweet scent of strawberry that transforms it into one of the best smelling cannabis. Like the real fruit, the smell of strawberry is universally regarded as being pleasant.

Flavors

As for how it tastes, most people would have a high expectation especially after smelling it. In this regard, Strawberry does not disappoint. What one would notice immediately as soon as taking a puff is the sweet candy or dessert-like flavor of berries and grapes, with a chemical tone. A slight undertone of spiciness is also detectable upon exhalation. Indeed, when talking about great tasting strains, this one right here belongs to that conversation.

Adverse Reaction

No, Strawberry is not going to bring users to a psychedelic journey through unknown universes. But what it does is to cause users to feel their mouth drying. It is easy enough to lessen this reaction if one were to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

Besides that, there are not many other concerns. Some reported reactions such as feeling dizzy or having a mild headache are likely due to two reasons. One is that the person is new to using cannabis. Another is because of smoking too much.

Like any other strain, marijuana gives recreational and medical cannabis users wondrous effects. Different strains have different reactions and potencies, but as a rule, using should be within tolerable limits.

Strawberry Strain for medical

Medical

The awesome mental high of Strawberry if of great benefit to medical marijuana users. For instance, by lifting one’s mood and inducing happiness, it is easier for users to cope with certain mental health issues such as depression. Because of the feeling of elation, then it follows too that stress levels are not only controlled but also brought down.

Another great use of Strawberry is in helping patients deal with pain. While it does contain chemicals responsible for reducing the symptoms of pain, it is also as much because of the positive vibe that some actually forget about the physical pain they were feeling.

Interestingly, Strawberry is also known to be excellent for use when one feels nauseous.

Growing

According to the few sources, we could find, it is possible to grow Strawberry outdoor and indoor. It seems that the best way to grow is indoor, though. As such, then the smart choice is to use hydroponics.

Inside a restricted space, keeping the plant between 3-1/2 to 4 feet should make it manageable. To further hasten its growth, use the Sea of Green (method)

Flowering Time

Indoors

One company selling seeds states that Strawberry can be harvested in around 8 weeks. We are not sure if the information provided on its yield, at 4 ounces per square meter, is accurate, though. It might seem awfully low compared to most other strains.

Outdoor

Outdoor, there is also a lack of information. Our assumption at this time is that Strawberry should have a yield of at least 4 ounces per plant. Furthermore, it seems that the ideal to harvest it would be somewhere during October.
