Reclining Buddha Strain

Soma Seeds continuously produces eccentric strains that stand out from the crowd. Their list is long but some of their more popular strains are Lavender, Somango, and Soma Skunk V. The last, however, underwent a name change and is now aptly called ‘Reclining Buddha’ for its ability to relax enthusiasts.

Information about Reclining Buddha:

A strain with an excellent lineage, Reclining Buddha has the sturdy structure of Holland’s Hope – a strain that can withstand hot summers and strong bouts of rain. To enhance the density of its buds, Soma Seeds added in Super Skunk. Meanwhile, its powerful buzz is obviously an influence of Big Skunk Korean and its landrace genetics.

Reclining Buddha is absolutely potent with THC levels that normally test around 23%. It is predominantly Indica yet retains excellent Sativa high with its distinct cerebral-focused buzz. Its psychedelic effects even won 3rd place for Best Overall Strain during the 1999 High Times Cannabis Cup.

Effects

Reclining Buddha’s onset is very refreshing in nature. In spite of its Indica-leaning structure, it delivers the classic cerebral high of Sativas. A single puff induces a subtle euphoric rush that almost always precludes a state of happiness. As it swarms the mind, users giggle and feel amused by anything and everything in sight.

True to its Indica genes, Reclining Buddha has an impressive body buzz that is completely relaxing. It begins in the temples and makes its way throughout the rest of the muscles. In the limbs, it plants a heaviness that prompts many to look for the nearest couch. In all likelihood, users will stay anchored where ever they are.

Due to its debilitating potential, Reclining Buddha is best used late in the day or at night. Otherwise, it can ruin a day of productivity. In moderation, however, it delivers a serene buzz that leaves users in an almost dream-like state.

Fragrance

Reclining Buddha is a pungent strain with strong notes of skunk accentuated by hints of fruit. Broken apart or combusted, it fills the room with a floral scent with a sweetness similar to berries.

Flavors

In the palate, Reclining Buddha has a strong fruity flavor with a hint of berry sweetness. There is also a tinge of citric lemons and oranges. On the exhale, it leaves an earthy aftertaste of freshly picked flowers.

Adverse Reaction

Dehydration is a common reaction of marijuana regardless of the strain or the user’s level of experience. Its effects are most obvious in the mouth. But, with cannabinoids interfering with moisture production in the tear ducts, eyes dry too and even redden. They usually go away with time but a few glasses of water immediately rehydrate the body if symptoms persist.

Reclining Buddha Adverse Reaction

There is a subtle feeling of paranoia that comes with overconsuming marijuana. It can be due to the heightened sense of awareness or a totally adverse reaction to the bud’s chemical structure. For this reason, Reclining Buddha must always be used with caution.

Medical

Reclining Buddha comes with extensive list of therapeutic benefits. Its soothing high and mildly mentally stimulating buzz provide a reprieve against a myriad of afflictions that often affect daily living. For one, it can appease symptoms of depression and other mental illnesses like anxiety and PTSD. At the same time, it works as a stress reliever.

Apart from the recreational high it induces, THC turns into a natural painkiller especially in potent levels. It eases away aches beginning from the temples regardless of their source. Meanwhile, its anti-inflammatory properties reduce swelling and redness.

Growing

Reclining Buddha inherited Holland’s Hope’s strong resistance to humidity that further enhances its sturdy Indica structure. It also has cold resistant genes that can withstand problems caused by sudden drops in temperature or changes in weather. It is not easily affected by mold, mildew, and root rot. For this reason, it performs well outdoors with each plant yielding exceptionally.

There is, however, the possibility of pests ravaging the batch. For that reason, many growers prefer growing their strain inside controlled environments where they can easily adjust factors such as lighting, temperature, or humidity. Using the Sea of Green method brings out the plant’s best qualities.

Reclining Buddha is a naturally stout plant that fits most indoor growing spaces. At times, though, it can be too short. As such, growers must stretch out the vegetative period so the plant fully develops into branches with great internodal spacing.

At the moment, Soma Seeds has only made Reclining Buddha available in regular form which means at least 50% of the batch will grow up to be males. To increase the chances of acquiring a female, aspiring growers must germinate more seeds or apply pre-germination techniques like presoaking. Meanwhile, Low-Stress Training techniques will keep calyx-filled plants from turning into hermaphrodites.

Flowering Time

Indoors

It takes exactly 9 weeks for Reclining Buddha to mature with each square meter yielding 10 to 12 ounces of buds. However, this all depends on the skill level of the grower.

Outdoors

In the great outdoors, a single plant can produce an excess of 12 ounces. The time to harvest that plant will be by the end of September.
