Among these is Gastro Pop, a cannabis strain by Chris Lynch of Compound Genetics. Most growers are happy to share tricks, tips, and insights but unlikely to give away all their trade secrets. Our ILGM team does its best to deliver all the information, but some details remain elusive. We’ll keep you updated on Gastro Pop as we discover more.

All about Gastro Pop Strain

Gastro Pop strain genetics

Compound Genetics formed Gastro Pop by combining Apples and Bananas with Grape Gasoline – two renowned strains from their collaborations with Cookies Fam and Cannarado Genetics, respectively.

Compound Genetics and Cookies Fam created Apples and Bananas by mixing Jet Fuel Gelato with Now N Later. This genetic combo gives it a distinctly apples and bananas flavor with strong earthy elements. Its fragrance further lends credence to the name by emitting an apple-like aroma with fresh cherries and a hint of gas. Fans of the hybrid say its high is quite heady with a calm body buzz.

Grape Gasoline from the Compound Genetics/Cannarado Genetics collaboration mixes Jet Fuel Gelato with Grape Pie. The result is a dank, top-shelf cultivar that delivers a calm high with retained mental energy and creative focus. This balanced hybrid is a prime choice for relaxed smoking sessions.

With these powerhouse breeders behind its creation – and such quality stock within its genes – it’s no surprise that Gastro Pop is quickly gaining traction. Other growers, like EastCann, now offer the Gastro Pop strain, but genetics may differ slightly. Multiple phenotypes are also available, with Gastro Pop #5 and #28 standing out above the rest.

Is Gastro Pop strain indica or sativa?

While one source suggests a 70:30 indica lean, Gastro Pop strain reviews are more ambiguous. Consumer feedback paints the picture of a strain that wavers between indica and sativa depending on personal tolerance and quantity consumed. The Gastro Pop strain indica to sativa split can also differ between phenotypes, so we may never learn the true balance of this hybrid.

Growing Gastro Pop strain

The Gastro Pop weed strain seems as easygoing as the high it delivers, thriving indoors and out in soil or hydroponics. According to sources, because Gastro Pop #5 is extremely difficult to acquire, Compound Genetics developed Gastro Pop S1 seeds to make cultivation more accessible.

Growers say the Gastro Pop cannabis strain seeds have a great germination rate and grow rapidly, quickly filling out into bushes. It has a reputation for tall growth, so ensure you have the space to accommodate this. Sources recommend using training techniques like Topping, Low-Stress Training (LST), and Screen of Green (SCROG).

At harvest age, its foliage is dense and bushy, with fan leaves in shades of dark green with hints of orange and deep purple. In contrast, its buds are a bright, vivid green with bold purple tones and amber pistils littering the surface of its thick, sticky trichome coating.

Gastro Pop strain flowering time and yield

According to Compound Genetics, it flowers for approximately 8-9 weeks before reaching maturity. If you’re growing outdoors, you can expect a late September or early October harvest.

Disclaimer: The average yield of any cannabis plant depends on several factors, including the skill of the cultivator, growing conditions, strain genetics, and size and health of the plant. It also differs between photoperiod and autoflower plants. However, you can use general estimates as a potential yield per plant guideline.

For photoperiod plants, this is 16-64 ounces (450-1814 grams) outdoors and 8-24 ounces (227-680 grams) indoors.

Gastro Pop strain autoflowering time and yield

Autoflowers don’t require a change in the light cycle, making them considerably faster to grow. The first buds typically appear around four to six weeks and have a flowering time between four and ten weeks.

Like most autoflowers, the Gastro Pop strain will be ready to harvest after ten to fourteen weeks with a potential yield per plant of 1.7-7 ounces (50-200 grams) outdoors and 1.7-4.2 ounces (50-120 grams) indoors.

Gastro Pop strain effects

The Gastro Pop strain effects unfold in a manner that reflects its genetic composition, offering a well-rounded and satisfying experience. From its sativa influence, you can anticipate a gradual onset of euphoria and uplifted mood. This cerebral stimulation may even open the door to enhanced creativity, focus, and sociability. Gastro Pop’s indica side makes its presence known by gently soothing your body and promoting relaxation. This dual-action effect lets you maintain mental clarity while enjoying physical comfort, with some even experiencing increased arousal.

Consumers report hunger greatly increases after smoking, so get your snacks beforehand. You don’t want to shop while hungry on this strain. Aside from mad munchies, other reported side effects were dry eyes, dry mouth and thirst, and mild tingling. Those are outweighed by the Gastro Pop strain’s benefits, which include easing symptoms associated with stress, depression, insomnia, appetite loss, and nausea.

The Gastro Pop marijuana strain offers versatile effects suitable for a variety of situations. Depending on your dosage, it’s great for daytime smoking, winding down after a long day, or an evening session that ends in sedation.

How strong is Gastro Pop strain?

With grade-A genetics stemming from celebrity-status parents and an ever-growing fan base hungry for that “pop,” it’s easy to tell that Gastro Pop doesn’t have a low THC level. Anything but modest, this flavorful strain delivers a potency averaging 23-27%. Some sources claim it can reach up to 30%, putting it in the same ranks as legends like Godfather OG

Godfather OG

  1. 60% indica 40% sativa

  2. High THC level towards 30%

  3. Big yields for both indoor and outdoor growers

  4. A great strain for relaxation and unwinding

Gastro Pop strain terpenes

Reports say the dominant terpenes are myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene. Each contributes a unique aspect to the Gastro Pop weed strain’s flavor and fragrance. Myrcene offers an earthy, fruity aroma complemented by limonene’s pungent citrus elements. Caryophyllene delivers spicy notes similar to cloves and pepper.

Aroma & Flavor

Aside from its potent effects, the most stand-out feature of the Gastro Pop marijuana strain is its unique aroma and flavor profile. Its fragrance is an intense blend of gassy grape and sweet blueberries, with notes of apples and bananas wrapped in a pungent dankness. Much like its fragrance, Gasto Pop’s flavor is packed with sugary fruit and sour citrus, rounded off with spicy diesel, which is most prominent on the exhale.
